ABOUT

About Me

I joined the Department of Information Engineering, Faculty of Information Engineering at Meijo University in 2026 and established Kurachi Laboratory.

My research focuses on cyber-physical systems, particularly automotive and mobility systems, and addresses cybersecurity, real-time behavior, safety, and dependability from an interdisciplinary perspective.

My current interests include cyberattack detection and root-cause identification in in-vehicle networks, real-time analysis for embedded systems, evaluation of automated driving and ADAS, software vulnerability analysis, and secure software update technologies.

In addition to research and education at the university, I am actively involved in industry-academia collaboration and professional activities related to automotive cybersecurity.

RESEARCH

Research Interests

Automotive Cybersecurity

I study cybersecurity for automotive systems, including in-vehicle networks, ECUs, intrusion detection, attack source identification, threat analysis, and secure software updates.

Embedded & Real-Time Systems

My research includes in-vehicle communication such as CAN and CAN FD, real-time schedulability analysis, and performance and dependability evaluation of embedded systems.

AD/ADAS Evaluation

I study safety and dependability evaluation of automated driving and advanced driver assistance systems using simulation and scenario-based testing.

Software Security

My research addresses security evaluation of embedded software, including vulnerability analysis, fuzzing, SBOM, digital forensics, secure software updates, and secure data deletion.

AI for Security

I investigate the use of AI for cybersecurity, including LLM-assisted threat analysis, anomaly detection, and adversarial machine learning.

ACTIVITIES

Professional Activities

Academic and Professional Activities

I am engaged in professional activities related to automotive cybersecurity, primarily through the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE).

These activities include committee work, planning technical meetings and symposiums, and industry-academia collaboration with experts and companies in the automotive field.

I also participate in peer review and program committee activities for domestic and international conferences and academic societies.

Education

At the Faculty of Information Engineering, Meijo University, I teach courses related to information engineering, embedded systems, real-time systems, and cybersecurity.

In the laboratory, I place importance on enabling students to experience the full research process, from identifying a research problem and surveying related work to system design and implementation, experimentation and evaluation, paper writing, and research presentation.

My research results have been published in peer-reviewed journals, international conferences, and domestic academic conferences and workshops.
